How to Donate Books

Books... Books... Calling all Books!

Books to be processed BooksKC's success relies on book donors….like you! Without your generous book donations, BooksKC would not be able to fulfill its dual mission of repurposing books, and providing jobs and job training to individuals with disabilities. Thank you.

The information below will describe how you can donate books to BooksKC:

  • Contact Steve Townsend at 816.751.7874 or if you have questions
  • See below for materials we are able to accept and those which we cannot accept
  • Due to the high cost of operating the BooksKC truck, we ask that quantities of books less than 400 be brought to our location, or one of the Drop-off Sites listed below.
  • If we are picking 400+ books up at a residence, books will need to be boxed and placed outside in an area our truck can get to.
  • If you are a business, the 400+ books must be boxed and placed where our truck has access
  • Our lead times for pickups range from 5-7 business days. There are times of the year when the lead time is longer.
  • If you are unable to meet the 400+ quantity, but still need us to pick up the books, we will do this for a reasonable fee. Contact Steve Townsend to discuss this.

  • If you need our help unloading, hours for drop-offs are 8-1 M-F. Pull up to the sliding glass doors, come inside and someone will help you unload. There will not be anyone here to help you after 1 pm.
